Empowerment Through Coaching

At Voz de Victoria, we understand that parents are their child’s best advocates. Therefore, our advocates pride themselves in empowering parents through personalized coaching to teach them how to best advocate for their children.

Understanding Rights and Laws

We educate parents about their rights under IDEA and other relevant laws (like Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act), empowering them to be meaningful participants in their child’s education. We translate educationese (teacher talk) into language that families easily understand.

Navigating the IEP/504 Process: We provide guidance through every stage of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 plan process. This includes →

Voz de Victoria

Empowered Voices, Unlocked Potential

We Get To Know Your Child

At Voz de Victoria we believe that every child has unique needs and it is with decades of expertise that we are able to conduct academic evaluations, in-depth study of all educationally related records and classroom observations.

We See Potential Where Others See Disability

Too often our children are seen as nothing but the labels that they have been given. However, we see our students as the unique and radiant people that they are and work hard to ensure that they are receiving the resources to help them live their best life.

We Listen and Hear Your Concerns

Through the course of interviews, correspondence, and IEP reviews, we are always in contact with loved ones and guardians of our students.

We Make Your Voice Heard

In school meetings (504 & IEPs) we translate your concerns into language that the school can understand.

We Rebuild and Strengthen Strained School Relationships

We help our families and school teams find common ground and focus on the goal: ensuring your child receives the tools they need to succeed.

We Ensure Your Child Receives An Appropriate Education

Your child is entitled to a free appropriate public education (FAPE) as the Individuals with Disability Education Act 2004 and other special education laws require. We at Voz de Victoria will ensure that they receive it!

Voz de Victoria: Supporting Students with Transition Planning, Advocacy, and Dispute Resolution

Voz de Victoria offers older students receiving transition services and/or those that want to go to college the following benefits.

Transition Planning: VdV advocates make sure that a transition plan is developed for students as early as age 14 (CA Assembly Bill (AB) 438, effective July 1, 2025), to prepare them for further education, employment, and independent or supported living after high school.

Voz de Victoria frequently leverages their relationship with districts to negotiate and resolve disagreements.

  • Resolving Disputes: When disagreements arise between parents and schools, we negotiate with district office staff to resolve compensatory education without having to file for due process.
  • Attorneys: guide parents through dispute resolution options, such as mediation or due process hearings.
  • Building a Paper Trail: Advocates often assist in documenting all communications and requests, which is crucial for accountability and future reference.
